Hayden is 4 months old!

Today our little man turns 4 months old.  I feel like time is just racing by.  It still feels like in some ways I just gave birth to him.  This last month has been a huge change for him.  Every day I just thank God for this guy.  He brings so much joy to our family.

Some highlights from this month are:

One of my BFF’s Hilary had her baby boy Corby.  We are so excited about this!  I just know Corby and Hayden will grow up great buddies.  Here they are with their daddies who are also great buddies.

I got a call one day from school that Hayden had been throwing up, so I left work early and just picked him up.  We got some good cuddle time in, and I just think he wanted some one on one time with mama, because after I got him home he never threw up again.  I mean, look at that smile.

We are attempting to sit up.  He HATES the bumbo.  Hates it.  So, I’m trying to prop him up anywhere and everywhere I can.

He got dedicated to the church

He has learned to love his baths!  I’ve learned that if we want both kids to bathe really quickly, we just stick them in there together.  Landry loves it.  She gets to hold him and help me bathe his head.

He is learning that having a sister means you have to come to her tea parties.  Not that he minds, but he probably wishes that cookie where a real one!

He watched his first Super Bowl.

We went over to the Boozers house with a bunch of our friends and he sat with daddy most of the night.  He has these adorable football shorts that I knew wouldn’t fit him come next season so he wore those.

Eat

This month we are attempting solids.  I mixed bananas with his cereal.  He had mixed emotions about them.  At first he didn’t know what to think, and then he wanted more.  Landry was the best eater, and I’m thinking he is going to be one too.  As far as bottles go, he is eating 5 bottles a day with 7 oz of formula.  We mix in the rice cereal at night and in the morning.  Also, we tried the highchair out for the first time the other day and he loved it.  He likes being able to see everyone at the table and observe his surroundings.

Play

We tried the exersaucer this month.  He loves it!  I knew he was getting tired of just laying on the floor on his mat, and he is holding his head up really well now, so I figured it was time to move on.  This has become his favorite place to go when I’m making dinner.  He just sits there and watches me.

Sleep

He is still sleeping through the night consistently.  He goes down at about 7:00 every night and wakes up around 6:30 every morning.  On the weekends, I’ve been putting him to bed later and he will sleep in until 8:00 or so.  As for naps, he is doing much better.  He takes a good one in the morning, and then another good one in the afternoon.

Oh this boy.

Sunday morning as I was getting ready for church, I realized that one year ago that morning I took a pregnancy test that would change the course of our family.  I had no clue that growing inside of me was this boy who would eventually steal my heart.  I love him so much.  Everyone who meets him loves him.  He is just the sweetest thing.

Love you little man!

Let's Skate!

For Landry's 5th birthday, I wanted to do something fun and special. We went through about 3-4 different types of parties and came across skating. She had never tried skating before, but we thought it would be fun. We took her last week to show her the place and she loved it. Yeah! Pleasing this 5 year old these days is not easy, so I was happy she was excited.

Here's my birthday girl ready for her party. One of my BFF's embroiders clothes and made Landry this shirt.

Way back when we were buying Christmas presents, Tim and I saw this outfit for the elf on a shelf and knew Landry would love it, so choo choo got to dress up and come to the party!

Little brother can't skate just yet, but he loved sitting in the wall watching everything.

At first she was nervous about skating, but once mama showed her how to do it, she loved it!

All her friends loved it to! Everyone seemed to be having a good time. I think the adults had more fun than the kids though!
Cake Time!
The party was such a success! I'm so glad we decided to go with the skating theme.

After the party, the family came back to our house so Landry could open presents.
She got some great stuff!

One more day and my baby will be 5!!!
